A postdoctoral position is available in the Laboratory of Dr. Anupriya Agarwal at the Knight Cancer Center Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). The position is focused on identifying the role of inflammatory microenvironment in leukemia clonal evolution, leukemia predisposition, and drug resistance. The work will concentrate on the discovery and molecular characterization of new therapeutic targets in hematologic malignancies. Candidates are expected to have substantial experience in molecular biology, biochemical techniques, and performing in vivo studies. They should have demonstrated their capabilities and enthusiasm by peer-reviewed publications. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is capable and willing to make maximum use of excellent facilities and a productive environment and are interested in a career in oncology basic/translational research. The applicant should have been awarded their PhD degree within two years of the application deadline.

A fully funded postdoctoral position is available in the Clements group in the Department of Hematology at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to study how the adult hematopoietic system is established during vertebrate embryonic development. We are interested in understanding how early precursors of the sympathetic nervous system interact with developing endothelial cells to establish the earliest hematopoietic stem cells. Our recent findings (Nature Cell Biology, 19:457-467, 2017) define the existence of this connection in zebrafish, and we are now working to extend these findings to mammalian systems and better understand key details. St Jude Children's Research Hospital offers an outstanding research environment, state-of-the-art scientific resources, and a robust community of talented, engaged, and collaborative investigators. We are particularly seeking an individual with experience in developmental hematopoiesis using mouse as a model system. In addition to a Ph.D., applicants should have a record of publication, and experience with molecular, biochemical, and cell biological techniques.
