Donald Metcalf Award

This award was established in 1999 in honor of Professor Donald Metcalf, "the father of hematopoietic cytokines.” In recognition of Dr. Metcalf's pioneering work on the control of blood cell formation, this award recognizes distinguished scientists in the field. McCulloch and Till Award

Established in 2004 in honor of Professor Ernest McCulloch and Professor James Till, this award recognizes junior scientists in the field of hematology and stem cells. New Investigator Awards

Established in 1999, the New Investigator Awards support the work of ISEH junior investigators and acknowledge the need for the continual stimulation of new ideas and exciting avenues of investigation within the experimental hematology field. These awards are given on the basis of Annual Scientific Meeting presentations. New Investigator Awards are awarded based upon sponsorship fulfillment.

Travel Grants

Travel grants are for young investigators presenting their latest cutting-edge research at the ISEH Annual Scientific Meeting and are awarded on the basis of scientific merit as a component of scientific abstract review process. Be sure to note your desire to be considered for a travel grant on your abstract submission form! Travel grants are awarded based upon sponsorship fulfillment based upon a sliding scale by location.

Award Details and Conditions

Travel grants are awarded as a component of scientific abstract review and are considered on the basis of scientific merit. Payment of the travel grants will be processed after the meeting, contingent on the grantee having attended the entire Scientific Meeting and presented during an Oral presentation or a Poster session.

Award Conditions

To be able to apply for a travel grant, you must:

  • Complete the ISEH 2014 Application for Travel Funds, and submit it with your abstract submission
  • Currently be either a STUDENT or POST-DOCTORAL FELLOW
  • Be a current member of ISEH
