AACR Annual Meeting 2014

The 105th AACR Annual Meeting will highlight the latest and most exciting discoveries in every area of cancer research, and it will provide a unique opportunity for investigators from all over the world to meet, network, and forge new scientific interactions. This year’s Annual Meeting theme, "Harnessing Breakthroughs • Targeting Cures,” reflects the great progress being made in cancer research as discoveries in the lab are translated into treatments in an increasingly targeted and precise manner.

Tumour Microenvironment and Signalling
EMBL Heidelberg, Germany-Wednesday 7 May - Saturday 10 May 2014

This symposium brings together researchers from complementary fields to enhance our understanding of the communication between cancer cells and their microenvironment. Important open questions are: Which signals do cancer cells transmit to and receive from the stroma and how do these signals promote malignant growth? What roles does the extracellular matrix play during neoplastic transformation? What is the contribution of immune cells to tumor progression? How is the inflammatory response of the tumour microenvironment regulated by the microbiota?
